Due to its high ability to withstand hurricane force winds, the Sabal palm is one of the most popular landscape palms for areas where hurricanes are likely to hit.

Because of its high salt tolerance it can be used in beachside plantings. It is often planted along shores, bays and beaches.

Since ithe Cabbage palmetto is cold hardy plant, it can be used in landscapes in the northern states.

The Cabbage palm is often used as a street and avenue tree. You can see a lot of these Florida palm trees along freeways.

In landscape design the Cabbage palmetto can be used as an accent tree or in large scale plantings. When young the Cabbage tree can be used as a potted plant.
